| Dear Art Collectors,
Welcome! Thanks so much for
your interest in my art. Over the years I have been inspired to create by hiking
the rails and trails of Montana as well as my spiritual beliefs.
My current passion in painting is
taking my beliefs and translating them into abstract spiritual original
paintings that speak to others regardless of their traditions.
For many years, watching
trains and hiking the tracks has been our main family hobby. My grandmother
worked for the Great Northern taking supplies to locomotives during World
War II. My husband has enjoyed trains all his life. His grandfather worked
as a signal maintainer for the Southern Pacific. My art has been shown
in museums, art galleries and publications. Roll-By in the Rockies,
a Milwaukee Road painting, was featured on the April 2002 Union Tank
Car Company calendar. Burlington Northern Santa
Fe is among corporations that have purchased prints for gift giving. I was a guest artist on the Smithsonian's
Art Train. My paintings are in many collections, including the Washington
State Arts Commission's Permanent Collection, Helena Regional Airport, and
Montana Museum of Art and Culture. I graduated from The University of Montana
Department of Art with a Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing and cum
laude from
Washington
State
University
with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts. I have taught art at Carroll College,
The University of Montana-Missoula, and currently teach at The University of
Montana-Helena College of Technology.
I hope you enjoy the art as much as I
have enjoyed creating it for you,
Linda McCray
